Partnership and Engagement Assistants

Purpose of the job:

Under the supervision of the manager the post holder will carry out routine duties to engage with Carers and Partners through presentations and face to face events. Give and update information and signpost enquirers to partner agencies.

Main Accountability of the job:

  • Attend Events representing the Network
  • Undertake Carer Awareness Sessions
  • Participate in engagement activities
  • Assist with the development of joint agency working
  • Assist Admin Info Coordinator with Web and Social Media updates
  • Minute taking and related activities
  • Deliver presentations as directed
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders
  • Collate statistics for reporting
  • Implement Carer Support processes
  • Update Databases with activities
  • Assist with support and signposting of Carers
  • Source, identify and engage Carers

Other features of the Role:

The post holder will gain the knowledge to understand and apply business processes and procedures. They will source appropriate information and communicate it in an appropriate clear and concise manner. The post holder will work in a safe and reasonable manner and enforce the organisations core values and be committed to equality. The post holder will demonstrate personal drive and be committed to customer care and working collaboratively with all stakeholders.


An interest in and understanding of the issues facing Carers

Good verbal and interpersonal skills including presentation skills (training provided)

Good IT skills and preferably the ability to use various Social Media tools

The ability to work flexibly and as a member of a team

The ability to find information through the internet and other sources


The post holder reports to the Manager and has no line management responsibilities


The post holder will regularly work with others under minimal supervision. The post holder will be required to join the PVG scheme.

About the organisation

The Network was formed in 1998 by unpaid carers to promote the interests of unpaid carers in South Lanarkshire. Our purpose is to meet the needs of carers who provide help and support to another person who due to illness, frailty or disability would not be able to live independently. We want to support everyone who cares for another through our network. We work in partnership with other agencies and third sector organisations to offer opportunities to influence and improve services which impact on unpaid carers.

Our remit remains to raise the profile of unpaid carers allowing them to have voice in the decision making process at a strategic level. We will support carers to use their skills and expertise by providing them with opportunities and facilities to meet and discuss emerging issues. We are South Lanarkshire’s primary carer information conduit signposting carers, statutory bodies and employers to partner agencies.
