We closed all our services last week, given that the vast majority of our service users fall into ‘at risk groups’.
Can I ask that EK Organisations get in touch with me to discuss in more detail.

Our plan now is to be part of the community response in East Kilbride, helping out people as they become more and more isolated at home.

I have copied my Facebook post below which outlines some of the services which might help people out in the following weeks. I’m very conscious that we cannot carry out this response individually and I now need other organisations in East Kilbride to come onboard to offer the most effective response. One of my main concerns is that vulnerable groups are already being targeted by scams and people who are looking to make some kind of profit.

A response is needed quickly. A CPN from EK phoned me earlier today to ask for help. A patient with COPD had telephoned her GP as she is unwell. The lady’s GP had sent an urgent prescription to a local chemist, however they are completely overwhelmed and couldn’t offer delivery. One of my team, who is fit and well, has now picked the prescription up and dropped it at the lady.

It’s still early days and not being able to collect vital meds, food and many other necessities is going to become common, and I feel we need to act really quickly on this.
