Job Title                                 Community Engagement and Support Worker

Hours                                      8 hours per week

Salary                                      £11.15

If you have a strong track record working with people and communities to make things happen, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust & Burnhill Action Group. You will be employed and supported by Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust and will work directly with Burhill Action Group on the project.

Burnhill Action Group have been successful in securing funding from The Big Lottery Fund to continue the development and delivery of community led activities.   Currently Burnhill Action Group run the Family Hub on a Monday and the Community Hub on a Thursday.  The Hubs support a programme of activities which includes providing meeting spaces for groups, employability support, welfare rights and financial advice, early years’ and children’s activities, a youth club and weekly activities for families.

Burnhill Action Group will continue these activities as part of a 3-year delivery plan, whilst developing new activities that local residents want in their area.  This will include an additional creating a new weekly Hub aimed at local adult residents who want to improve their health & wellbeing.   This role will support the delivery of this new hub and it will include fitness, nutrition, mental health and substance misuse workshops, which have all been identified as topics of interest by the community.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, to support the development and delivery of the new Hub.  Your   enthusiasm and drive will enable individuals, groups and communities to become part of a sustainable and community led initiative maximizing community and health outcomes.  You can expect to enjoy a varied role with a range of opportunities and to work autonomously as well as within a close-knit team.
