Post: Community Based CAB Adviser
Hours: 28 hours per week
Fixed Term Post to 31st March 2020
Salary: £23,000 pro rata
Reporting to: Team Leader General Service
Hamilton CAB has been successful in securing short term funding from CAS to offer targeted advice to people who live in Fairhill and Eddlewood areas of Hamilton and may be experiencing difficulty with rent arrears and other household costs.
- The provision of holistic general advice, financial inclusion support and practical assistance for people experiencing difficulties with rent and other essential payments
- Ensuring effective referrals and links to CAB and other services as appropriate to ensure good use of resources
- Making and building good connections with the local community and partners
The successful candidate will be self motivated, confident, have excellent interpersonal skills and be competent to Type I in SNS Debt and Welfare Rights (minimum). Excellent communication and case management skills and a flexible working approach are essential. The service will be provided within school/ nursery and community settings; home visits and evening or Saturday morning appointments will be offered where necessary. This post would be suitable for an experienced Generalist Adviser keen to develop casework experience. Start date – as soon as possible.
