Could you help lead our team?
Carer Support Coordinator
Terms: 28 hours pw (but with some flexibility), £27,033 to £29,445 (pro rata), 6% matched pension, flexible working arrangements
Carers of East Lothian in the lead organisation supporting people who provide unpaid care for family or friends who are disabled, frail or who have chronic health problems. We are looking for a committed and positive colleague to take on a key role leading our team of carer support staff and ensuring we provide excellent information, advice and support. The introduction of the Carers Act makes this an exciting time for our service and this role offers a rewarding balance between line management, direct support with carers, and the chance to contribute to the development of both our organisation and wider policy, planning and services for carers and the people they care for.
We are looking someone with a record of managing a busy team and several years’ experience providing support in a community setting. You will also need a good understanding of the structure of health and social care services, voluntary and statutory agencies, etc. Most important though is a commitment and a focus on the outcomes that will make the most difference for people. In return we offer the opportunity to make a real difference for carers; flexibility and a positive and energetic working environment. Post is currently based in Musselburgh but will move to Haddington in late 2019.
Closing date for applications is 10 am Monday 26th February 2018 & interviews will be held on Thursday 8th March in Musselburgh.
