Carers Advocacy Surgeries – Pictured above is Olivia Fitton from the Advocacy Project at a recent Information Fayre.

The first of The Carers Advocacy surgeries ran by the Advocacy Project took place at South Lanarkshire Carers Network yesterday.

The surgeries are a new idea and an opportunity for Carers of Adults with Mental Health issues to come in and find out about Advocacy and the support it can offer and arrange follow up support if they wish.

The Network had 3 Carers yesterday and it was good to discuss some of the issues important to Carers in the area.  Surgeries are held in offices at the Network and one of the benefits of this is it is a quiet space where you can talk about the issues that are important to you privately.
The next surgery will run on Thursday 26th July from 10am – 1pm.
